Why I Upgraded as an Artist Accepting Bitcoin and Most Cryptocurrency

Joel Wright Bitcoin

Before I get into exactly “Why I started as an artist accepting Bitcoin” and other Cryptocurrency as an artist, let me briefly explain what bitcoin is. Even though you are seeing Bitcoin pop up everywhere lately, you may still not know exactly what it is.

What is Bitcoin? What is Cryptocurrency?

Bitcoin is a blockchain technology that is used for transferring value from users over a digital network. Bitcoin is digital money. It can be traded on exchange platforms like coinbase for US dollar just like any other fiat currency.

Encryption on the blockchain, a digital ledger, is used to secure transaction and hold users accountable. Digital money like Bitcoin has been coined as cryptocurrency due to the encryption of blockchain database.

I am only scratching the surface about what is bitcoin, but you can find out more about that on your own. If you want to get started head over to bitcoin.com .

There are Many Types of Cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin might be the most well known cryptocurrency but it certainly isn’t the only one. At the time of this writing there are over 1000 listed at coinmarketcap. Some of the first that come to mind Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin just to name a few but have a look for yourself.

Each cryptocurrency can have a specific function or side purpose. Etherium for example can be used as a platform to build other cryptos. It can be used inside a game or app for example for digital coins inside of a video game.

Decentralized  Currency Is Your Personal Empowerment

Unlike fiat currency, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency isn’t controlled by third parties and is a decentralized form of currency. Well, until you exchange bitcoin for US dollar. Then third parties are involved and taxes are reported.

The less involvement with central means of exchange the better. Activist like Sterlin Lujan (or Luxan) have written and speak extensively on the subject of decentralization. He now travels all over the world speaking on behalf of Bitcoin.com educating the financial and tech sectors about Bitcoin and the philosophy behind the blockchain tech.

Great Friends Expand Your Mind

Sterlin and I are great friends and have conversed for hours on economics, freedom from rulership, and cryptocurrency at many times we may should have been working. We have had events at my art gallery about personal liberty and draw nice, intimate crowds eager to learn more about financial freedom.

Another activist I have had the pleasure of meeting is Derrick Broze at the Conscious Resistance when he was traveling for part 1 of the Decentralize your Life Tour when he spoke at my gallery events as well.

What intelligent and insightful people you meet in the space of Cryptocurrency, Anarchy, and Decentralization lovers. Both of these guys delve into the decentralization topic extensively. It boils down to your personal freedom plain and simple.

Many People Are Ready For Bitcoin

In my experience at the gallery with our events and talks I have interacted with people that “just don’t get it”.  And that’s fine, you really don’t have to get it.  Some of the same people are playing games on their phone and buying digital credits for in-game currency to make purchases of virtual products and this is no different that cryptocurrency.

You don’t have to fully understand the technology to use it thankfully. In the same way most of us are not economics professionals but we can certainly spend dollars. When Bitcoin is accepted everywhere we may all have to shift forward into using cryptocurrency to stay up to date with society.

You are probably ready for cryptocurrency whether we’d like to admit or not. The more you know about cryptocurrency the better. But you don’t have to be an expert in the field. I am certainly not an expert in Bitcoin. I do however accept it and here is why!

Just recently I posted about shop Joel Wright Art and I mentioned that I accept Bitcoin.

Why I Started Accepting Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrency

  1. Unit per Unit, Bitcoin is valued much higher compared to the US Dollar. It changes dramatically everyday. One unit of Bitcoin is usually worth 1000’s of $.
  2. In my experience, Bitcoin has an upward trajectory and my value increases over time. (due your own due diligence and never take my investment advise. I am just an artist.)
  3. Because of the increase in value of Bitcoin, there are many people that like to spend it and have it to spend! I will take it!
  4. Until I turn it into USD it isn’t really fiat income. (Some tax advisers might say otherwise. Also, payment through my online shop Joel Wright Art goes through a third party cryptocurrency payment processor and will indeed be considered income.)
  5. It’s easy to save money with cryptocurrency and is more of a storage and investment at this time.
  6. By using the cryptocurrency I am embracing my own personal financial freedom.
  7. Technology never moves backwards, It always moves forwards.
  8. The farther technology moves forward the faster it moves forward.
  9. Art is invaluable. I’d rather trade it for a currency that I perceive as having more lasting or even increasing value.

I Am Not Telling You That You Should Be Using Bitcoin

I am a laid back guy and I don’t want to get up in your business. I have no idea what you should be doing. Half the time I don’t know what I should be doing. I do love the technology of using crypto and I am an advocate of cryptocurrency. Although I recommend it, you are the only one that can decide if its right for you.

Do research and educate yourself and determine if its right for you. I think we can all benefit from the transfer of wealth that is happening right now. Why not?

BitcoinAF Comedy

In the meantime, if you’d like to poke some fun at this technological craziness, watch JP Sears Bitcoin!  He says in humor “If you’d have bought Bitcoin three months ago you’d have tripled your money by now! You’re so stupid for not buying Bitcoin.” Haha!

Awaken with JP makes fun of many things I love and that’s why I appreciate his self deprecating humor so much. He helps people through his humor to not take themselves too seriously and that is a great service to humanity.

Bitcoin WorkShop In Texarkana

I am hosting an event in Texarkana, Tx, on Wed, Jan 10, 2018 from 6:30-9pm. If you’d like to learn more at the Bitcoin Workshop join us it is open to the public and free of charge. Sterlin, the Communication Ambassador for Bitcoin.com and his own Cryptocurrency Confidant Consulting will be speaking on all things cryptocurrency and will be available for questions and scheduling one on one sessions.
