Watercolor Tattoo Artist – Joel Wright

Joel Wright watercolor tattoo artist

Welcome To My Tattoo Art

joel wright art logo humming birdMy name is Joel Wright (obviously) and I’m a watercolor tattoo artist and painter. I like to get crazy with the color but I do black and gray wash tattoos as well. I like my tattoos to have the painted style and feel and when I’m not tattooing then I’m probably painting or drawing.

For me there is no separation between painting and tattooing. I use the same styles and techniques.  If I’m creating art then I’m happy.

I like to stay within the expressive, painted or watercolor or even abstract style because that’s where my attention goes. I can do various types of tattoos but the loose and expressive is where I’m most skilled.

I love to do dark, ethereal and eerie tattoos as well as bright, cheerful and vivid tattoos.

Here are just a couple of pics from my tattoo portfolio.

If you ever travel to Germany as a guest artist, let us know, I beg you! I just can’t find anyone who’s as ridiculously talented as you.

I am definitely going to start following you and your work. Your articles on watercolor tattoos have been very helpful + you are extremely talented. If you’re ever in L.A. area, I would love to know. I’ve been dying for a watercolor tattoo.

These are so wonderful– I myself have always been a bit picky about tattoos (on my own person, I love looking at other’s works!). But when I heard that watercolor tattoos are an actual thing, I decided that it’s something I would love to have! You’re very talented and I hope to get one of your masterpieces sometime in the near future!

Looking for ideas for my wife. She had Breast cancer and is looking for a watercolor design to cover her breasts. No creatures. Suggestions?
